Provo Canyon Family Photography

We went up Provo Canyon to do a little photography of a really fun family.  Here is a little preview.  Their "real" sneak peak will be posted in the next day or two and I'll tell you more about them in that post.  I think these girls are cute... and I just couldn't wait to share these pictures.

Provo Photography for a BYU Grad - Sneak Peak

We love being photographers in Provo.  The other day we went out with Justin and took a lot of fun graduation pictures all around BYU's campus.  We were in the library, by the bell tower and at the stadium/cougar.  We had a great time getting to know you Justin and good luck with everything after graduation!

Provo Photography Photoshop Tip: Actions!

Sometimes we get asked, "How do you find time to go out to dinner, go to the movies, and hang out with friends when you have pictures at home that need to be edited?" The answer to this is very simple: "Photoshop Actions!"

Actions are a great tool and a wonderful time saver! How often do you find yourself doing the same steps in photoshop on each of your pictures? There is no need to waste all your time sitting behind the computer doing those same steps over and over again!

Photoshop Actions are a series of recorded steps that you record yourself doing edits to an image. It is then saved in your "actions" folder. The next time you want to apply this effect to an image or multiple images, all you have to do is press play! The action will apply the effects you did to the original image to as many images as you want! It's awesome! It saves you lots of time, and very easy to do.

So while the computer is doing all the work... you get to go play tennis, go to a movie, or hang out with your family! :)

These are great! If you have a whole folder of images that need to be resized and saved as JPG... make an action! If you need to enhance the color in all of your images... make an action!

You can even find free actions that others have made online and save them on your computer.

Colorado Engagements - Danielle & Jose

Last weekend, Jared and I had the wonderful opportunity of leaving Provo and going on a long drive to Colorado to do a little Photography. We took some fun engagement pictures of Danielle & Jose in the beautiful setting with a river and forest area. We had such a fun time taking their pictures,and we had a great time in Colorado! Here are some ideas on getting more votes for your pictures:

1. BLOG IT! -make a post telling your friends and family to send us an email voting for your picture! (put a link to silverstrandphotography.blogspot.com so they can see the pictures!)
2. EMAIL IT! -send out a mass email to all of your contacts telling them that you really want this 16x20 print, and to send a quick email to vote for your picture.
3. TEXT IT! -we are in a texting age... use it to your advantage! Text all your contacts in your phone telling them to email us their vote.
4. FACEBOOK IT! -put a link to our blog on facebook and tell them to email us!
5. TALK ABOUT IT! -Word of Mouth works best. Tell your co-workers to vote and tell them to tell their friends and family to vote also.
6. If you really want the 16x20 print, you could even go door to door or hand out flyers! :)
